Reptiles
As in other
African Countries Ghana has its share when it comes to reptiles. Not all
the snakes and other reptiles found in Ghana have been documented but we have listed the most common.
In Ghana you find the
Dwarf Crocodile and Nile Crocodile in the Mole and Kakum National Parks as well as in Paga in the North and
in other rivers throughout the country.

In Ghana one finds
several species of turtles these are Bell's Hinged, Serrated Hinged,
Home's Hinged, African Helmet and West African Mud
Turtle.

The Nile Monitor is a
lizard like reptile and grows up to a length of 1.7 meters.

Some of the most common snakes in Ghana
all of which are poisonous but also very shy and keep away from humans as much as possible
